Medical School Admission Counseling
Medical School is difficult to get into these days -- this is an understatement. Take advice from a current medical student on how to best approach the medical school admissions process. I offer phone consultation and personal statement and AMCAS guidance and review. There is no better resource than someone who has made it through the rigorous process of admissions successfully.
Every year over 40,000 applicants apply to U.S. Allopathic (M.D.) schools and about only 50% of the applicants eventually get accepted into medical school. What makes a good applicant? Why do schools choose the students they choose? Many say the process is a crap shoot, whereby luck and chance dictate the admissions process. I know better.
Whether you are looking for assistance in the general process or you are looking for help in specific areas (MCAT, AMCAS, Personal Statement, Choosing schools to apply to etc.) why not consult a student who has proven his expertise by gaining admission himself?
There are several companies and independent consultants out there who offer similar admissions consulting services but how many of those service providers have recently gone through the admissions process? I am a current medical student who recently made it through the admissions process and I can help you tailor your own path to success.
I also understand the enormous costs of the admission process and offer competitive pricing on all services. I have successfuly passed the test that is medical school admission and want to help you do the same.
What is the cost?
$200/hour. I will charge for time actually counseling you over the phone as well as for any time involved working on your case (E.g., Editing your personal statement etc.). If you find cheaper rates anywhere else for the kind of service I offer please let me know and I will do my best to match or beat their rate. After looking into the price range for this kind of consultation I think you will agree that $200/hour is reasonable.
Are you a parent looking for advice on your child's future?
What happens to the 50% of students who apply to medical school each year and don't make it (over 20,000 applicants/year). They will either try again next year, consider Osteopathic schools (D.O.), try a Post-Bacc program, look into Caribbean Medical Schools, check out other health science careers, or change fields all together. There is a lot of anxiety involved in this process and having a good idea of what your child can expect during the application cycle is one way to understand what they're going through and help them out. I can help you gain some insight before your child runs into roadblocks at any stage of their educational career. I offer services in the following areas:
- How to get your child into medical school
- Understanding the medical school admissions process
- How to choose the best undergraduate college
- Curriculum planning during college
- Seeking out extra-curricular activities
- Advice on letters of recommendation
- Timelinefor your child's success in the admissions process
- A comprehensive and individualized plan for undergraduate success
- Understanding other health science careers (dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc.)
- Facts about caribbean medical schools
- Osteopathic vs Allopathic medical schools
- Learning what your child can do in high school to succeed
- Beating California's ridiculous odds of getting into medical school
- Figuring out if Post-Bacc programs are a good way to go
